216 species, of which the bull trout (Salvelinus confluentus), peregrine
falcon (Falco peregrinus) and badger (Taxidea taxus) are
endangered.
A nesting and rearing habitat for over 180 species of birds, total

The uneven ridges in the lake
ice indicate the nearing spring break-up.
The muted tones and soft edges
of the distant mountains in shadow
give this scene the appearance of a painting
---- this one by the Old Master Painter Himself.
