BECOME
MANDI'S HERO
- "You Don' Need Superpowers to Save A Life"
Mandi
Schwartz, a 22 year old young woman from Wilcox Saskatchewan, is an
inspirational Yale Bulldogs hockey star with acute myeloid leukemia.
Mandi was recently in remission and scheduled for a cord blood stem
cell transplant on August 27th in Seattle, but sadly on August 11th
she learned that the cancer had returned for the third time .
Mandi then had to undergo more chemotherapy treatments so another
date for that life-saving transplant has yet to be finalized.
While an appropriate match
for Mandi's transplant has been found, it is not a 100% match so
we are still searching for that perfect donor match in case she
or someone else needs it in the future.
Potential donors can also
learn more about Mandi, and cord
blood and bone marrow donations at
BECOME MANDI'S HERO.
In Canada go to
ONE MATCH Stem Cell and Marrow
Network.
We also encourage you to join Mandi's
FACEBOOK Group
to help spread the word.
Mandi is meeting this latest
challenge bravely and positively. She has an amazing
inner strength and is a true life's hero both off and on the ice --
even continuing to do workouts.
" Her heroic example has been an
inspiration to thousands."
Up to date information on Mandi is available at the
YALE BULLDOGS
